The Sustainability Analysis Laboratory (LASu) at DEMa/UFSCar aims to develop and apply quantitative methodologies for evaluating the economic, social, and environmental impacts associated with the development of new materials (such as new metal alloys, graphene, biodegradable plastics, etc.), processes, and related engineering. The group works especially in the areas of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), techno-economic analysis (TEA), carbon footprint, energy efficiency and resource use analysis, circularity, as well as in proposing strategies in materials engineering to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
